Who Benefits
With your financial help we are able to provide funding to support various local programs and services throughout our community. People contribute to the United Way because they know that one gift will go a long way. Where else can you support 16 local agencies that provide essential programs and services to Lloydminster and area.
The Agencies and programs we will support in the 2009/10 campaign will be as follows:
1. Bea Fisher Centre: Programs and services for people with Developmental Disabilities. Recreation/transportation program
2. Lloydminster Interval Home:
Public Education/Community Development program to reduce family violence and the cycle of abuse.
3. Midwest Family Connections:
Family networking and Parent workshops
4. Lloydminster Association for Community Living:
Recreation liaison project for individuals with disabilities and their families
5. Lloydminster Community Youth Cente:
Youth Centre programming.
6. Lloydminster Rescue Squad:
Emergency service and rescue training; Hug A Tree Program.
7. St. John Ambulance:
Training
8. Lloydminster Native Friendship Centre:
Aboriginal Cultural Awareness Program
9. Multiple Sclerosis:
MS patient support group; information sessions; resource materials and Handivan services
10. Libbie Young Centre:
Services and programs for adults living with mental illness.
11. Thorpe Recovery Centre: "Harris House"
12. CNIB: Vision Health.Vision Hope Support for living with vision loss.
13. Canadian Paraplegic Association:
Information services, public awareness and workshops
14. Lloydminster Sexual Assault and Information Centre:
Recruitment and training of volunteers for the Centre including the operation of the 24 hour crisis line
15. Lloydminster & Area Brain Injury Society:
Life enrichment program for brain injured persons.
16. Catholic Social Services:
Premura Counselling.
